New Year, New Start.

A warm welcome to the start of a new year. My last post was full of promise and hope, but the very next day my life took a turn for the worst; and kept getting that way. There is very little that life can throw at me now that I haven't already experienced. My heart was heavy with sadness that the people I loved could treat me with so much contempt and disappointment. In fact my heart shut down and my creativity with it.
I have learnt much these last 6 months, which of my friends are always going to be my friends and stand by me. How loved by my parents and my children I am, ( even though they have caused their fair share of heartache ). Who has my best interests in mind, and that I need to give myself permission to fail on a regular basis. It's OK to not get things right.
So the past few days have been better, and my head is full of creativity; buzzing with images and ideas.
When I have something to show I will.

40 How Old!!!!!!!!

Well it's my 40th today and so I thought I would take some time to blog. Alot has happened since the beginning of June and most of it really pants. The 'computer expert', has made life very difficult for me and the kids. My daughter went missing over a weekend and my son went to find her. He did and then stayed with her, so I ended up reporting them missing, to be brought back at five in the morning. Three days later another call to the police because my son was smashing up my hallway. He was taken to his dad and that is where he has decided to stay. Go figure, he is very angry cause he wants to know who is to blame for his dad leaving. I refuse to 'bitch' about 'the computer expert' in front of them or blame him for his shortcomings, so i've lost out. I hope that soon he will see that the grass is not always greener and come to terms with his dad's inability to deal with real life, and come home.
So after this last awful year, does life really begin at 40? I hope so, in fact I have a really good feeling about this next year. I still do not drive so that is going to be my first project. Second is to sort my house out and get a skip for all the useless tat that he left behind. Clear space, clear head and all that. Thirdly is to do a piece of craft every week and post it up on this blog.
What do you think? Three things are enough to be getting along with for now.

Floating on canvas

Good afternoon all. Today's offering is a canvas that I have been working on for a few weeks now.

I bought a few stampotique stamps as I love them loads, especially Daniel Torrente's creations. I think that these evoke strong emotions in the stamping world and like Marmite you either ' love them or hate them '.
The background is a mixture of Dylusions ink and acrylics. I stamped the images and removed the ink by adding water to sections and soaking it up with paper towels. Then re-inked with a paint brush. There is some mica powders blended with water to highlight, and then Tim's crackle paint at the bottom.
I wanted to try to add some depth and create some interest with an old necklace of mine. Am still in two minds about this( daughter thinks i'm in two minds about most things, think that comes from her bi-polar).
Anyway, I hopped over to the Alter it Monthly blog and 'low and behold' this months challenge is 'canvas'. So here is my entry for this month. http://alteritmonthly.blogspot.com/

Seeing Red

Good morning peeps. I have a tag to show you today. Over on http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/2011/05/sunday-stamper-week-156-red-red-wine.html Hels is asking people to join her challenge and create something with Red. OOh did you see what I did there, how clever of me, well actually Blogger, but I'm going to take credit for finding it. Ha Ha.
I used Tim's tiny stamps from a QVC TSV on a red cardstock. They were stamped with Walnut distress ink, and also on the diecut cog, which was stained with Barn door red, as was the Bliss ticket. A bit of ruffled Tissue Tape,  red ribbon and a few red bling stones to finish it off.
Hels covers her tags and her placement is fab, I prefer a little less on mine, not so much to go wrong!

Two wall hangings

Afternoon peeps, it's raining here and looking a little miserable; so I thought I would post two little wall hangings I recently did. This one using PaperArtsy stamps will be winging it's way to my brother-in-law's wife, as a thank you for taking the time to listen to my woes. It's only when life throws a 'curve ball' do you find out who your true friends are.
Anyway, this was created by stamping the images and then using white crayons to create a resist. After that I spray inked Dylusions in Lime & Sky Blue. I just love the colours and coverage you get from them. Made a frame using an odd section of garden supports. Then stuck on a few stamped flowers from another stamping plate.

This next one uses a stamp from Crafty Individuals and a small canvas. As I am experimenting trying to find what I like most, I seem to have no particlar style at the moment. I like both of them, but the one above speaks to me the most.

Therapy in a Journal

Since the 'computer expert' has gone I have tried to fill some pages of an Art Journal I had started a few months back. I find that my emotions are a little erratic at the moment and I don't like being filled with anger, not with someone I still, rightly or wrongly, love. So I have begun to use my journal as a bit of therapy.

Not sure I am making much progress in the sanity department, my daughter thinks I have had a brain fart.
I am trying lots of different techniques and probably making some up as well.
I had a particular bad week this last one and I think that shows from my dark page. There are some other pages that I haven't finished yet, but will post them up when I have.

My first picture upload!

Been worried for some time how on earth I would get my creations on my blog... Well I have a very savy daughter who looks at me like I am from the dinosaur age! "What you don't know how to do any of this yet, mum!" So I enlist her help and voila... what do you think?

This is my first card for a challenge. http://craftyindividualsblog.blogspot.com/ Daughter now laughing at me cause I did a huge whoopy for learning how to do a link. Anyway, this is for the 'Free as a Bird' challenge at Crafty Individuals, who I visited at Port Sunlight this last weekend. I bought three stamps from them but could quite have easily re-mortgaged my house.
Now I know how simple this is I might be on here everyday..Ha Ha
